Description

The Knightsbridge flex outlet module is a single-gang grid module designed to accommodate cables up to 10mm diameter through a central aperture in a white thermoset resin faceplate. The module is part of the Curved Edge grid system, where individual modules clip into a separate grid frame to build multi-function wall plates combining switches, sockets, data outlets and cable pass-throughs in a single installation point.

Designed for residential and commercial installations where appliances with fixed cables need to be hard-wired into a wall plate without terminating into a plug, the flex outlet provides a neat exit point for cables running to lamps, alarm panels, extractors, or small kitchen appliances. The 10mm aperture suits standard flex and data cables but will not accommodate armoured cable or thick extension leads. The module measures 25mm wide by 55mm high, occupying one grid position in a Curved Edge frame.

The white thermoset resin construction provides IP20 rating and includes anti-microbial properties tested to ISO 22196:2011, making it suitable for healthcare, hospitality and food preparation environments where surface hygiene matters. The module is front-mounting, clipping into the grid frame from the visible side of the wall plate after the frame itself is fixed to the back box. Knightsbridge backs this module with a 25-year warranty.

What grid system is this compatible with?

This module is designed exclusively for the Knightsbridge Curved Edge grid system. It will not fit standard flat grid frames or other manufacturers' grid systems. The Curved Edge system uses a separate metal frame into which individual modules clip.

What cable diameter does it accept?

The aperture accepts cables up to 10mm diameter. This suits most standard appliance flex, lamp flex and data cables, but will not accommodate armoured cable, thick multi-core cable or bundled cable runs exceeding 10mm.

Is the module suitable for outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating means the module is suitable for dry indoor locations only. For outdoor or wet-environment cable exits, an IP-rated gland or sealed outlet is required.

Can multiple modules be combined in one plate?

Yes. The Curved Edge grid system allows multiple modules to be combined in 2-gang, 3-gang and 4-gang frames, so you can build a custom wall plate combining switches, sockets, data outlets and flex outlets as needed for the installation.
