Description

We stock the Flarity 150mm extension rod as a structural drop for track lighting systems, made from black powder-coated aluminium. It fits between the ceiling plate and the track rail, adding 150mm of vertical distance so the track sits lower than the ceiling. It carries no light source of its own, so you build it into a Flarity track run as a spacer rather than as a fitting.

We reach for this rod where the track needs to clear something on the ceiling or hang a little further into the room. That covers sloped or high ceilings that need extra vertical adjustment, and runs where the rail has to sit below beams or other features. The 150mm drop also gives track spotlights room to angle downwards without the heads sitting tight against the ceiling, which helps in taller rooms where the light would otherwise be a long way from the surface below.

The rod accepts a standard ceiling plate at the top and the track rail connection at the lower end, and its black aluminium matches the rest of our black Flarity track components for a consistent look across a run. The powder coating helps it resist marks during handling and fitting. It is not dimmable, since it is a mounting component rather than a light; any dimming is handled at the spotlight heads or on the mains circuit.

Frequently Asked

What does this extension rod do?

It adds 150mm of vertical drop between the ceiling plate and the Flarity track rail, so the track hangs lower than the ceiling. We use it to clear beams or ceiling features and to bring the track further into taller rooms.

Is it dimmable?

No. It is a structural mounting component with no light source, so there is nothing on the rod to dim. You control brightness at the track spotlight heads or on the mains circuit instead.

Does it fit the rest of the Flarity track system?

Yes. It takes a standard ceiling plate at the top and the track rail connection at the lower end, and the black powder-coated aluminium matches our other black Flarity track parts for a consistent run.

What is included?

You get the 150mm extension rod in black aluminium on its own. The ceiling plate, track rail, spotlight heads and bulbs are separate, so you can size the run to your ceiling.
