Description

The Firefly in the Sky is a cordless table lamp in Textured Terracotta, with a wide, tapered shade on a slim stem and a round, flat base. It stands 26.5cm tall and 12.4cm across, compact enough for a bedside table, a bookshelf or a narrow console. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It draws 2W and gives 134 lumens of warm white light at 2700K, and with a CRI of 90, colours and skin tones look true and natural under it. Expect a soft, low glow for evenings and conversation rather than bright light for close work.

Because it runs on a rechargeable battery, there is no cable to trail across the floor or tuck behind furniture, so the lamp goes wherever you want a little light. In the bedroom it makes a gentle bedside light; in the living room it sits happily on a side table, a sideboard or a coffee table, and you can move it from one to another as the evening goes on. It is rated IP65, dust-tight and protected against jets of water, so it is also a good choice for a bathroom shelf or windowsill where it may catch the odd splash.

The Textured Terracotta finish has a soft, matt surface and an earthy, warm colour that sits well with wood, linen and plaster tones, and it carries through the shade, stem and base alike. The lamp runs at 5V DC and charges by USB-C, so there is nothing to wire in and no electrician to call. When the battery runs low, simply recharge it by USB-C, then set it back on its table, ready to go wherever you need it next.
