Description

Firefly in the Sky is a rechargeable bollard light in a Textured Terracotta finish: a slim stem rising from a round foot plate to a flared, drum-shaped head. It stands 57.6cm tall, with a head 12.4cm across, so it marks out a path or border with light rather than towering over it like a lamp post. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It draws 2W and gives 134 lumens at 2700K, a warm white close to the glow of a traditional bulb, and with a CRI of 90, planting, paving and stone keep their true colours after dark.

This is a light for the garden. It is rated IP65 and made for outdoor use, so it can stay out along a path, at the edge of a border or beside a terrace, wherever you want a low, warm point of light once evening comes. Because it runs from its own rechargeable battery rather than the mains, there is no cable to bury and nothing for an electrician to wire in, which leaves you free to place it exactly where it is needed. Several spaced along a path mark the way without the glare of floodlighting, and one beside a garden seat gives just enough light to sit out by.

The Textured Terracotta finish is a warm, earthy colour with a textured surface, and it sits comfortably against brick, stone, timber and green planting alike. The LED runs at 5V DC from the battery, and the fitting is Protection Class III, meaning it works at extra-low voltage.
