Description

The Fioni is a dining table 275cm long, 90cm deep and 76cm high, built from reclaimed wood. The top is a run of boards with the seams showing, carried on a deep apron and four square posts set in from the corners. A recessed drawer sits in the apron at one end with a dark metal pull. The wood is sanded and finished with a white wash that pulls the different timbers into one tone while leaving the knots, the splits and the darker streaks showing through.

At 275cm long it seats four along each side, or four on one side with a bench running the length of the other. At 76cm high it takes a standard dining chair under it, and the legs are set in from the corners, so a place at the end is not fighting one. It weighs 133.2kg, so it is a table that is put down once and left.

The wood is reclaimed ceiling beams, cut to size and sanded, so the boards are a mix of timbers and no two tables come out alike. Knots, splits and rough patches run through the surface and belong to the material rather than being faults in it. The table is reclaimed wood and iron, and it is for indoor use. The Fioni range also runs to dining tables at 180cm and 220cm, two benches and a dining chair.

Frequently Asked

How big is it?

275cm long, 90cm deep and 76cm high.

How many does it seat?

Four along each side.

What is it made from?

Reclaimed wood taken from old ceiling beams, with iron in the build.

Will every table look the same?

Not exactly. The boards are reclaimed, so every table takes its own mix of timbers, knots and splits.

Are there other sizes?

Yes, two. The Fioni dining table is also made at 180cm and at 220cm, and the range holds two benches and a dining chair.

How should it be looked after?

It is for indoor use. Wipe it regularly with a soft dry cloth, always with the grain, taking care over the rough patches, which can splinter. Mild soap and water can be used, but not much water. Use coasters and mats, blot any spill immediately, and wipe oil off at once.
