Description

The seven light Fennhollow cascade in antique brass steps ribbed clear glass globes down from a 480mm round plate. The fluting in each globe splits the light into small warm highlights, helped along by the brass behind it, and the staggered heights give the fitting a proper falling shape. The drop adjusts between 1910mm and 2310mm, making it the mid length choice in the design. Seven E27 lamp holders take 10W LED bulbs and the pendant is dimmable, so it can run bright while a hall is in use and low once the house settles for the night.

Hang it over a stair turn, in a hallway open to a landing, or above a dining table in a room with height to give. Around two metres of drop needs headroom, so measure to the lowest point anyone will walk under before fixing. Over a table, keep the bottom globe above eye level across the surface. Warm brass and ribbed glass suit rooms already using timber, brass ironmongery or darker paint, and the sparkle it throws makes it a good fit for a hall that gets little daylight.

Metal parts carry an antique brass finish, gently aged so handling marks blend in rather than showing. The ribs in the glass collect dust, so dust along them with a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush, with the light switched off and the bulbs cool. The brass wants a barely damp cloth at most, and no sprays or cream cleaners, which strip plated surfaces. It weighs 7.9kg, so use a ceiling fixing rated for the load. The thirteen light Fennhollow cascade takes the same ribbed glass into a full height void.
