Description
The Fennhollow cascade is a thirteen light pendant that hangs ribbed clear glass globes at staggered heights from one bright nickel plate. The vertical ribbing catches the light and throws small highlights across the room, which gives more sparkle than plain glass at the same size. The plate is 580mm across and the drop runs from 3370mm to 3770mm, a length built for tall voids. Thirteen E27 lamp holders take 10W LED bulbs and the fitting is dimmable, so a stairwell can be lit properly when it is in use and turned down to a marker level overnight.
Give it height and it does its best work, whether that is a double height hall, a turning staircase, a galleried landing or a tall dining space in a converted building. Seen from an upper floor the ribbed globes read differently again, catching light along their length. It is not a fitting for a standard 2400mm ceiling, where more than three metres of drop would leave globes at head height. Measure the void, then place the fitting so the lowest globe clears any tread, walkway or handrail.
Suspensions and plate are metal in bright nickel, a cool silver that keeps attention on the ribbed glass. Ribbing collects a little more dust than a smooth globe, so plan on dusting it more often. With the power off and the bulbs cool, work a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush along the flutes rather than across them, wipe the nickel with a barely damp cloth and keep abrasives away from the plating. At 13.3kg this is a heavy fitting that needs a load rated fixing and proper access. Smaller Fennhollow cascades and clusters carry the same ribbed glass into rooms of ordinary height.

Frequently Asked
What is the Fennhollow glass like?
Clear glass with vertical ribbing, which breaks the light into fine highlights instead of one flat reflection.
Will it fit an ordinary ceiling?
No. The drop of 3370mm to 3770mm is intended for a stairwell or double height void.
How do I clean ribbed glass?
With the power off and the bulbs cool, run a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush along the flutes rather than across them.
What bulbs does it take?
Thirteen E27 bulbs at 10W each, and the fitting is dimmable.
How heavy is it?
13.3kg, so it needs a fixing rated for the load and safe access for installation.
