Description

The Farum is a single-light bathroom wall light built around a polished chrome arm that curves upward from a circular stepped backplate to support a cone-shaped opal glass shade. The fixture includes a 3W G9 LED bulb that casts light downward through the opal glass, which diffuses the output into a soft, even wash across vanity countertops and mirrors. The IP44 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3.

Designed for vanity mirror installations, the Farum works as a single fitting above a small mirror or in pairs flanking larger mirrors between 600-1200mm wide. The 215mm projection from the wall positions the light source forward of the mirror plane, directing light onto the user's face rather than creating shadows behind the head. The 240mm height and 178mm width give the fitting enough visual presence to anchor a mirror without dominating the wall when switched off.

The polished chrome finish reflects light from other sources in the room and pairs cleanly with chrome taps, towel rails and shower fittings in contemporary and traditional bathroom schemes. The stepped circular backplate at 100mm diameter conceals the wall fixing and cable entry. The opal glass cone measures approximately 150mm at its widest point and tapers to meet the chrome fitting at the top, creating a recognisable mid-century silhouette that complements white ceramics, metro tiles and tonal grey or blue schemes.

Is the Farum suitable for bathroom use?

Yes. The Farum carries an IP44 rating, which allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3. This means it can be fitted above a basin or beside a mirror outside the immediate shower or bath splash zone.

Does it include a bulb?

Yes. The fitting includes a 3W G9 LED bulb. The G9 socket accepts replacement bulbs up to the maximum 3W LED rating, allowing you to change the bulb if the original reaches end of life.

What height should it be mounted at?

For mirror installations, the centre of the fitting is typically mounted at eye level, between 1500-1700mm from the floor depending on user height. When installing as a pair, space them 600-900mm apart for balanced coverage across a vanity mirror.

Is the opal glass replaceable?

The opal glass shade is held by the chrome fitting and can be carefully removed for cleaning or replacement if damaged. Contact Kichler or Niori for replacement glass parts if needed.
