Description
The ESP Aperta is a 7-inch IP video monitor that connects to compatible IP door entry systems via Power over Ethernet (PoE), eliminating the need for separate power and video cabling. The 255mm-wide touchscreen unit mounts to an internal wall and receives both power and data through a single Cat5e/Cat6 network cable run back to a PoE switch or injector.
Designed for residential and small commercial door entry installations, the Aperta pairs with ESP's IP door stations to provide two-way audio, live video preview, door release control and call answering from the wall-mounted touchscreen. The included smartphone app extends control beyond the physical monitor, allowing users to answer door calls, view live video and unlock doors remotely from iOS or Android devices when connected to the same network or via cloud relay.
The black fascia with silver-grey lower section gives a neutral appearance that suits modern hallways and reception areas without drawing attention. The 38mm depth allows surface mounting on plasterboard or masonry walls with cables concealed behind the unit. At 904g the monitor is light enough to be supported by standard wall fixings without reinforcement. The PoE requirement simplifies retrofit installations where mains power points are not available at the preferred monitor location.
The Aperta works as part of ESP's IP door entry ecosystem, which includes surface and flush-mount door stations, additional monitors for multi-point coverage, and integration with third-party IP CCTV recorders. Video resolution, call handling behaviour and app access are configured through the monitor's on-screen menu or via the connected network switch.

Frequently Asked
What is PoE and why does this monitor use it?
Power over Ethernet (PoE) delivers both electrical power and network data through a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable. This eliminates the need for a separate mains power cable, simplifying installation where power outlets are not available at the monitor location. You will need a PoE-capable network switch or a PoE injector to power the Aperta.
Can I answer door calls from my phone when I'm not at home?
Yes, if the monitor and your smartphone are connected via cloud relay or VPN. The ESP app supports remote call answering, live video viewing and door unlocking over the internet. Local network-only installations will only allow app control when the phone is on the same Wi-Fi network as the monitor.
Is this compatible with non-ESP door stations?
The Aperta is designed to work with ESP's IP door entry system. Compatibility with third-party SIP-based door stations may be possible but is not officially supported. Check with ESP or consult the manual for integration details if you are using non-ESP hardware.
How many monitors can be added to one door station?
ESP's IP door entry system supports multiple monitors on the same installation, allowing coverage in different rooms or floors. The exact limit depends on network configuration and the model of door station used. See the full system manual or contact us for multi-monitor installations.
