Description

The ESP Aperta is a 7-inch IP video door entry monitor powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE), designed for residential and light commercial door entry systems. The monitor connects to compatible IP door stations over a standard Cat5e/Cat6 network cable, which carries both video/audio signal and power, removing the need for separate power supply wiring. The white plastic housing measures 255mm wide by 156mm high by 38mm deep and is designed for surface mounting on internal walls.

The Aperta pairs with ESP IP door stations to provide two-way audio and video call answering at the door, with calls viewable on the 7-inch screen or via a smartphone app when away from the property. The app allows remote door opening, call history review, and live camera viewing from any internet connection. This makes the system suitable for flats, houses, and small office buildings where occupants need to answer the door remotely or check visitors before opening.

The monitor operates on a PoE network switch (802.3af standard), which simplifies installation by requiring only a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable run from the network point to the monitor location. The white finish suits modern residential interiors and the compact footprint allows installation beside entrance doors or in hallways without dominating wall space. The system supports door release triggers, allowing electric strikes or magnetic locks to be activated from the monitor touchscreen or the smartphone app.

Frequently Asked

What PoE standard does the Aperta require?

The monitor requires 802.3af PoE, which is the standard output from most PoE network switches. The PoE switch must be rated to deliver at least 15.4W per port to power the monitor reliably. A passive PoE injector is not recommended unless it specifically meets 802.3af standards.

Can I answer the door from my phone when I'm not at home?

Yes. The Aperta smartphone app allows remote call answering, live camera viewing, and door release activation from any location with internet access. The monitor and door station must be connected to a router with an active internet connection for remote access to function.

What cable type is needed for installation?

Standard Cat5e or Cat6 network cable is required. The cable carries both the video/audio data and PoE power, so no additional power wiring is needed between the PoE switch and the monitor. Maximum cable run length is typically 100m for reliable PoE delivery.

Is the monitor compatible with non-ESP door stations?

The Aperta is designed to work within ESP's Aperta IP door entry system range. Compatibility with third-party IP door stations depends on whether they support the same SIP protocol and network configuration. Refer to the product manual or contact us to confirm compatibility with specific non-ESP hardware.
