Description

The English Bridle is a 321mm outdoor wall lantern with a British Bronze cast metal frame and a seeded glass enclosure housing a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately). The seeded glass diffuses light through hundreds of tiny bubbles trapped in the glass during manufacture, creating a softer wash of light than clear glass and hiding the bulb filament from direct view.

Designed for porches, entrance doorways and garden walls, the lantern carries an IP44 rating, meaning it resists solid objects over 1mm and water splashes from any direction — appropriate for covered outdoor positions but not areas exposed to direct heavy rain or hosing. The 191mm projection from the wall gives clearance for the downward light spread without the fitting protruding too far into narrow pathways.

The British Bronze finish is applied as a multi-stage process that builds depth through darker base tones and lighter bronze highlights, mimicking the natural patina of aged bronzework. The metal band beneath the glass hood is decorated with a Celtic-style interlocking chain motif, and the finial on top uses a turned dome and ribbed collar detail typical of early 20th-century English manor lighting.
