Description

The Blockbuster headband light is a head torch carried in a wide band you pull on like a headband, rather than one strapped and buckled around the head. A slim moulded lamp unit sits at the centre front, and a single raised button on its face works the two modes the pack names, low and high. Band and housing are a pale grey. It runs on two AAA alkaline cells and Energizer puts those cells in the pack, so there is nothing else to buy before the first use. One light comes in each pack.

Energizer prints four uses on the pack: sport, reading, indoor recreation and camping. That is a fair summary of where a band like this earns its keep. It sits flat across the forehead and goes under a hood or a hat with no buckle to press against. The low mode is the one for reading in a tent or a bunk room without waking the person beside you, while the high mode is for finding the water tap, the fuse box or something dropped behind the car seat.
