Description
The Energizer 9W LED PLT is a 2-pin plug-in lamp with a GX24d base, delivering 1260 lumens of 4000K cool white light. The bulb is a direct retrofit replacement for older 26W compact fluorescent lamps in commercial downlights, bulkhead fittings and utility luminaires, using less than half the wattage of the CFL it replaces.
Designed for workspaces, corridors, stairwells, retail back-of-house areas and domestic utility rooms, the PLT shape fits compact luminaires where a traditional screw or bayonet fitting would not. The GX24d 2-pin base slots into existing sockets without rewiring, and the lamp switches on instantly with no warm-up delay or flicker. The 4000K colour temperature sits in the cool white range, providing clear, neutral light for task areas and circulation spaces where visibility matters more than ambience.
The lamp carries an Energy Rating of D under current UK regulations and contains no mercury, making disposal simpler than equivalent CFLs. The tubular PLS shape keeps the overall length compact while the twin parallel tubes maximise the emitting surface area relative to the fitting size. Non-dimmable operation means the lamp runs at full output from switch-on, suited to commercial installations where dimming is not required.

Frequently Asked
Is this a direct replacement for a 26W CFL PLT bulb?
Yes. The Energizer 9W LED PLT delivers equivalent light output to a 26W compact fluorescent while using less than half the wattage. The GX24d 2-pin base is a standard fitting used in many commercial and domestic luminaires designed for CFL PLT lamps.
What does the GX24d base mean?
GX24d is a 2-pin plug-in base with a specific pin spacing and orientation. The "d" denotes the pin configuration. This base is common in compact fluorescent downlights and bulkhead fittings. If your existing CFL has a GX24d base, this LED is a direct fit.
Is the bulb dimmable?
No. This lamp runs at full output from switch-on and is not compatible with dimmer switches. Installing it on a dimmed circuit may cause flicker or failure.
What's the difference between 4000K and warmer white bulbs?
4000K is a cool white with a neutral, slightly blue-toned appearance suited to task lighting, workspaces and utility areas. Warmer whites (2700K-3000K) have a yellow-orange tone more common in living spaces and hospitality settings.
