Description
The Energizer 9W LED PLD is a 2-pin G24d retrofit bulb delivering 1300 lumens at 4000K cool white. It replaces 26W compact fluorescent lamps in commercial downlights, bulkheads and closed luminaires where the existing fitting has a G24d socket. The twin-pin base inserts directly into the socket and rotates to lock, allowing replacement without rewiring or changing the fixture itself.
Designed for corridors, stairwells, utility rooms, commercial offices and retail back-of-house areas, the PLD format fits compact housings where space is limited. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white light that renders colours accurately without the warm yellow cast of 2700K bulbs or the clinical intensity of 6000K daylight lamps. The 1300 lumens output matches or exceeds the brightness of the 26W CFL it replaces, while consuming 65% less energy.
The non-dimmable LED driver maintains consistent output without flicker, making it suitable for areas requiring stable illumination throughout operating hours. The plastic body construction runs cooler than legacy CFLs, reducing heat build-up in enclosed fittings and extending the life of the luminaire housing. The bulb carries an energy rating of D under 2021 UK energy labelling regulations, reflecting the efficiency gains over older fluorescent technology.
The compact PLD shape measures approximately 135mm in length, allowing it to fit inside downlight housings and bulkhead enclosures designed for CFLs. The G24d base has two pins spaced 10mm apart on a single-sided plug, which is the standard for many commercial and residential compact fluorescent fittings installed between 2000 and 2015. This Energizer LED provides a direct upgrade path without the need to replace the entire luminaire.

Frequently Asked
Will this bulb fit my existing CFL downlight?
If your current bulb has a G24d 2-pin base (two pins on one side of the plug, 10mm apart), yes. Remove the old CFL, insert the two pins into the socket, and rotate the bulb to lock it in place. Some older CFL fittings have a separate ballast that may need bypassing for LED operation — if the bulb does not light after installation, consult an electrician to check the ballast wiring.
What wattage CFL does this replace?
This 9W LED produces 1300 lumens, which matches or exceeds the output of a 26W compact fluorescent lamp. The energy saving is approximately 65% over the equivalent CFL.
Is this bulb dimmable?
No. The driver is non-dimmable and will not function correctly with dimmer switches. Use only in fittings with standard on/off switching.
What does 4000K cool white look like?
4000K is a neutral white that sits between warm white (2700K-3000K, which appears yellowish) and daylight white (5000K-6500K, which appears blue-tinted). It renders colours accurately without warmth or coolness, making it common in offices, retail spaces and commercial corridors.
