Description
The Energizer LED GLS is an 8.8W LED bulb with a standard E27 Edison screw base, delivering 806 lumens at 3000K warm white. The GLS (General Lighting Service) shape is the classic pear-shaped bulb profile that fits the majority of UK table lamps, ceiling pendants, and standard light fittings. Each bulb provides a 60W incandescent equivalent output while consuming 8.8W, and the pack contains two bulbs.
Designed for general residential and commercial lighting, the bulbs suit living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas, hallways, and offices where consistent ambient light is needed. The E27 base is the larger of the two common UK screw bases (E27 is 27mm diameter, E14 is 14mm) and fits most table lamps, floor lamps, ceiling pendants, and wall lights sold in the UK over the past two decades. The non-dimmable design means the bulbs provide steady output on standard on/off switches without flicker.
The 3000K colour temperature sits in the warm white spectrum, producing a yellow-toned light similar to traditional incandescent bulbs rather than the cooler, blue-toned light of 4000K-6500K daylight LEDs. At 806 lumens, each bulb provides the same light output as a 60W incandescent but draws 8.8W, reducing energy consumption by approximately 85%. The rated lifespan is 10,000 hours, which translates to approximately 10 years of use at an average 3 hours per day. The bulbs measure 60mm diameter by 110mm height, fitting flush within most lamp shades and ceiling rose covers without protruding.

Frequently Asked
Can these bulbs be used with dimmer switches?
No. These are non-dimmable LED bulbs and are not compatible with dimmer switches. Attempting to use them on a dimmer circuit may cause flicker, buzzing, premature failure, or damage to the dimmer module itself. For dimmable applications, see Niori's range of dimmable E27 LED bulbs.
What's the difference between E27 and E14 bases?
E27 is the larger Edison screw base at 27mm diameter, commonly used in table lamps, floor lamps, and ceiling pendants. E14 is the smaller 14mm screw base, typically used in chandeliers, wall lights, and smaller decorative fittings. These Energizer bulbs are E27 and will not fit E14 sockets.
How long do these bulbs last?
The rated lifespan is 10,000 hours. At an average usage of 3 hours per day, this equates to approximately 10 years before the light output degrades to 70% of the original 806 lumens.
What's the energy rating and what does it mean?
These bulbs carry an F energy rating under the updated EU energy label scale introduced in 2021. The scale now runs from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient), with very few LED products currently achieving A or B ratings due to the stricter criteria. An F-rated LED is still significantly more efficient than an incandescent bulb, consuming 8.8W to replace a 60W incandescent.
