This is a GLS bulb, the classic pear shaped household shape, with a full size E27 screw cap and an opal white glass that softens the light before it leaves the bulb. It draws 7.3W and gives 806 lumens, which the pack states as a 60W replacement, so it is the straight swap for an old 60W incandescent or a tired energy saver. The light is 4000K cool white: a clean, neutral white without the yellow of a 2700K lamp and without the blue edge of a 6500K daylight tube.

Cool white at this brightness suits rooms where you want to see clearly rather than settle in. Kitchens, utility rooms, home offices, garages and workshops all read well under it, and it keeps white paint, stainless steel and worktops looking white rather than cream. What does 4000K cool white actually look like?

Can I use it on a dimmer switch?

It is dimmable, and works best on a trailing edge dimmer made for LED loads. An older dimmer built for filament bulbs may flicker or refuse to start at 7.3W.
