Description

This is a 5W LED replacement for the four pin 2G7 compact fluorescent lamp, the short twin tube type usually written PL-S or PLS/E. It gives 700 lumens at 4000K cool white, and the retail pack rates it as a replacement for an 11W fluorescent. The four pins sit in a white moulded base below a pair of parallel tubes, so it goes into the same lampholder the old lamp came out of. It is not dimmable, and the manufacturer gives it an energy rating of D.

Fittings that take a 2G7 lamp tend to be compact and purpose built: wall and ceiling bulkheads on landings and in corridors, stair and porch lights, desk and machine lamps, and the slim amenity fittings found in utility rooms, garages and workshops. 4000K is the neutral white that sits between the yellow of a 2700K bulb and the blue edge of daylight, so it reads clean and even rather than cosy. Yes, provided the old lamp has the four pin 2G7 base used on short PL-S and PLS/E compact fluorescent lamps. Check the base marking before ordering, because the similar looking PLL lamps use a 2G11 cap.
