B22 LED Filament Candle Bulb 5W 550lm Dimmable - Warm White 2700K

This is a candle bulb with a B22 bayonet cap, the push and twist fitting with two pins on the side of the metal base. It draws 5W and gives 550 lumens, and the pack rates it as a replacement for an old 40W incandescent candle. The light is 2700K warm white, the softer yellow tone most people associate with a traditional filament lamp rather than the whiter light of an office. Clear glass and slim LED filament strips run the length of the bulb, so the light source itself is part of the look.

Bayonet candle bulbs are the usual choice for chandeliers, candelabra, wall lights and small pendants that take a shade clipped over the bulb. Before ordering, check the cap on the old lamp: B22 is the larger bayonet, with a base roughly 22mm across, while B15 is the smaller one and will not swap. The beam angle is 320 degrees, so light spreads almost all the way round the glass rather than throwing forward in one direction, which suits a fitting where the bulb points upward or sideways. A clear bulb like this one earns its place in open fittings where the glass is on show; behind an opaque shade you lose the detail.

Dimming is supported, so this will work on a dimmer circuit, though LED lamps want a trailing edge or LED rated dimmer and older mains dimmers built for filament loads can hum or flicker at the bottom of the range. It fits a B22 bayonet holder, the larger of the two bayonet caps, with a base of roughly 22mm. If the old bulb has a narrower base with two pins, that is B15 and this one will not go in.

Yes, it is dimmable. For steady dimming use a trailing edge or LED rated dimmer; older dimmers designed for filament loads often buzz or flicker once an LED lamp is turned low.

How bright is 5W against the bulb I am taking out?

It produces 550 lumens, and the pack rates it as a 40W replacement. Wattage no longer tells you brightness with LED, so compare the lumen figure rather than the watts when you swap.

What does 2700K warm white look like in a room?

It is the soft, slightly yellow light of a traditional filament lamp, comfortable in living rooms and bedrooms. Cooler options nearer 4000K look whiter and read as more clinical by comparison.

Will the filaments be on show in an open fitting?

The glass is clear, so the filament strips inside stay in plain sight. That suits chandeliers and open wall lights where the bulb is part of what you look at.
