This is a 221mm LED strip tube with a small S15 cap at each end, made to drop straight into the slim strip fittings that were once filled with fluorescent or incandescent tubes above mirrors, along picture battens and under kitchen wall units. It draws 4W and gives 350 lumens at 2,700K, a warm white that sits close to the colour of old tungsten lighting rather than the blue-leaning white of a workshop tube. The body is frosted rather than clear, so the light leaves it as one soft band instead of a visible row of diodes, and the 240 degree beam angle spreads that light around almost the whole circumference.

Strip lamps earn their place wherever a fitting has to be slim and close to what it lights: over a dressing table mirror, above a framed print, inside a wardrobe, under a run of kitchen units or along a hallway. No. Measure the gap between the contacts in your housing before ordering, because S15 tubes are made in several lengths and a shorter one will not bridge a longer fitting.

Can I run it on a dimmer?
