Description

This is a replacement lamp for a cooker hood, built on an E14 small screw cap and using LED filament rods rather than a coated dome. It draws 4W and gives 440 lumens, and the retail pack rates it as a 35W replacement, so it stands in for the small tubular incandescent lamp most extractor hoods were originally fitted with. The colour temperature is 3000K warm white, a soft yellow toned light that keeps food and pans looking natural rather than clinical. The glass is clear, so the upright filament rods read as fine bright lines when the lamp is lit.

Cooker hood lamps live in an awkward spot: behind a small glass cover or a slotted grille, close to the heat and steam of the hob, and usually held in a recess that will only take a narrow tubular bulb on the smaller screw thread.
