Description

The Energizer 14W PIR LED bulkhead is an oval-profile wall-mounted fitting built from black polycarbonate with an integrated PIR motion sensor and a fixed 14W LED array. The sensor detects motion within a 2-5m range across a 90° arc and holds the light on for 3 minutes after last movement, then switches off automatically. The fitting outputs 1200 lumens at 4000K cool white through a translucent polycarbonate diffuser.

Designed for entrances, garages, pathways, side passages and utility areas where motion-activated security lighting is needed, the IP54 rating allows installation in outdoor locations exposed to rain and dust. The bulkhead mounts to standard outdoor back boxes or directly to masonry with the supplied fixings. The polycarbonate construction resists impact and corrosion better than steel housings in coastal or high-moisture environments.

The 73 lumens-per-watt efficiency means the 14W draw is comparable to a traditional 100W incandescent bulkhead while the LED lifespan reduces relamping frequency. The 4000K colour temperature provides neutral white light suited to functional outdoor spaces where colour rendering is less critical than brightness and coverage. The 120° beam angle spreads light across doorways and garage forecourts without creating harsh hotspots directly below the fitting.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

The IP54 rating makes this suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 only (outside the shower enclosure and at least 600mm from the bath edge). It is not rated for zone 0 or zone 1 (inside or directly above showers and baths).

How long does the light stay on after detecting motion?

The PIR holds the light on for 3 minutes after the last detected movement. This duration is fixed and cannot be adjusted on this model.

What is the detection range of the sensor?

The PIR sensor detects motion within a 2-5m range across a 90° horizontal arc. Detection reliability depends on the angle of approach — movement across the sensor's field of view triggers more reliably than movement directly towards it.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED array is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. The rated lifespan is typical for commercial-grade LED bulkheads and the entire fitting would be replaced at end-of-life.
