Description

The Kichler Emory is a 610mm-diameter dual-mount ceiling light that can be installed as a pendant chandelier with an adjustable 331-1270mm drop or as a semi-flush ceiling fitting with a 331mm overall height. The fitting centres on a satin silver metal frame supporting an off-white fabric drum shade with a frosted glass diffuser beneath. Four E27 bulbs sit inside the drum, casting light through both the fabric sides and the glass base to provide ambient room lighting with minimal glare.

Designed for dining rooms, living rooms and bedrooms, the Emory suits rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards when hung as a pendant, or rooms with lower ceilings when mounted semi-flush. The satin silver finish on the suspension arms and central stem provides a cool metallic accent that pairs with both contemporary and transitional interiors. The off-white drum shade softens the light output while the frosted glass diffuser distributes it evenly downwards, making the fitting suitable for positioning above dining tables or in the centre of a lounge without creating harsh shadows.

The dual-mount capability allows the same fitting to be used in different rooms as ceiling heights change — pendant-hung over a dining table in a 3m-ceiling room, or semi-flush in a 2.3m-ceiling bedroom. The suspension rod is adjustable on installation, so the final drop height is set during fitting based on the specific room requirements. The metal frame, fabric shade and glass diffuser are held together by a central stem structure that balances the 610mm diameter without the shade sagging or tilting under its own weight.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Emory takes four E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient room lighting.

Can it be used as both a pendant and a semi-flush?

Yes. The Emory is supplied with the components to install as either a pendant chandelier with adjustable drop from 331mm to 1270mm, or as a semi-flush ceiling fitting with a fixed 331mm height from ceiling to base. The installation method is chosen during fitting.

What ceiling height is needed for pendant installation?

For pendant installation over a dining table, the fitting typically hangs 700-800mm above the table surface. This requires a ceiling height of approximately 2.5m or above. Lower ceilings can use the semi-flush installation method instead.

Is the fabric shade removable for cleaning?

The off-white fabric drum can be gently vacuumed with a soft brush attachment or wiped with a dry microfibre cloth. The shade is part of the frame assembly and is not designed to be removed without disassembling the entire fitting.
