Description

The Kichler Emory is a 457mm diameter drum pendant or semi-flush ceiling light with a silver metal frame, off-white fabric shade and a frosted glass diffuser at the base. The fitting takes three E27 bulbs up to 60W each (sold separately) and can be installed either as a pendant with a maximum drop of 1245mm or as a semi-flush mount with a 315mm minimum ceiling clearance.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and bedrooms where ceiling height varies, the Emory's dual-mount configuration allows the same fitting to be used as a pendant in rooms with 2.7m or higher ceilings, or as a semi-flush in rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings. The drop is adjusted on installation by shortening or lengthening the central rod. The silver metal frame forms a double-band structure around the fabric shade, with curved support arms connecting the canopy to the upper band.

The off-white fabric shade diffuses light from the three E27 bulbs across a wide horizontal spread, while the frosted glass diffuser at the base softens downward light and prevents direct bulb glare when viewed from beneath. The combined fabric and glass layers create ambient rather than task lighting, filling a 12-16m² room with soft general illumination when paired with warm-white LED bulbs at 2700K-3000K.

The silver finish on the metal components is a brushed satin tone that sits between polished chrome and brushed nickel, pairing comfortably with both warm and cool interior palettes. The fabric shade is removable for cleaning and the glass diffuser lifts out from the lower rim for bulb changes without needing to detach the entire fitting from the ceiling.

Can this be used as both a pendant and a semi-flush?

Yes. The Emory is supplied with a central rod that can be shortened or lengthened on installation, allowing the fitting to be installed as a pendant with a maximum 1245mm drop or as a semi-flush mount with a 315mm minimum clearance from ceiling to base.

What bulbs does it take?

The fitting takes three standard E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are not included. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to create soft ambient lighting.

What size room does it suit?

The 457mm diameter and three-bulb configuration suit rooms between 12-16m² when used as primary overhead lighting. This includes typical dining rooms, entrance halls and bedrooms with standard ceiling heights.

How is the fabric shade cleaned?

The off-white fabric shade can be removed from the metal frame for cleaning. Use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner to remove dust, or spot-clean gently with a barely-damp cloth. Allow the shade to dry fully before refitting.
