Description

Emmie is a small table lamp dressed head to toe in striped linen. A drum shade sits on a tapered, cone-shaped base, and the same vertical stripes, in a lighter and a deeper yellow, run down both, so shade and base read as one piece. It stands 30cm tall and 20cm across, which makes it a compact lamp for a shelf, a sideboard or a bedside table rather than the main light in a room. At 1.6KG it has a reassuring weight for its size.

We like it wherever a little colour and a soft, warm glow are wanted: on a bookcase or open shelving in a living room, on a side table beside the sofa, or on a bedside table or desk. Lit, the linen shade glows a warm yellow and the stripes still show through, which suits evenings when you want a gentle light rather than a bright one. The switch sits on the cord, so you can turn it on and off without reaching under the shade, and the 150cm cable gives you some freedom in where you place it. It is rated IP20, so keep it to dry rooms.
