Description

The Elipse PF/50 is an outdoor ceiling light built around one large, slightly flattened white globe, 50cm across, which hangs from a round canopy on a short stem. It is 54cm tall in all, with a canopy 12cm across and 5cm high and a stem 14cm long, so it gives a generous, calm shape beneath a ceiling. We offer it in two versions. The dimmable integrated LED version needs no bulb and gives 2070lm of warm 2700K light at 24.7W, with a CRI of 90, so faces and colours look natural under it. The E27 version takes two E27 bulbs of up to 15W each, not included, so you choose the bulbs yourself.

It is rated IP66 and made for outdoor use, so it belongs on the ceiling of a porch, a veranda or a covered terrace, or above a front door where the weather reaches it. One wide globe makes a single, generous source of light over an outdoor dining table or a seating area under a pergola. The dimmable LED version suits long evenings outside, with full light for a meal and something gentler later; it is TRIAC dimmable, so pair it with a compatible dimmer. The E27 version suits anyone who likes to pick and change their own bulbs.

It is made from brass, iron, aluminium and medium density polyethylene, with a white finish from the canopy down to the globe. The Elipse was designed by Alex Fernández Camps and Gonzalo Milà, and its rounded, softly flattened outline keeps it looking quiet whether it is lit or not. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. Before you order, measure the space under your ceiling: allow for the full 54cm drop, and leave room around a globe 50cm across so it sits comfortably.
