Description

The Elipse PF/30 is an outdoor ceiling light with a white globe, 30cm across, held on a short stem below a round canopy. It is 39cm tall overall. The stem is 14cm long, and the canopy is 12cm across and 5cm deep. It comes in two versions, so you choose the light source. The integrated LED version, TRIAC dimmable, needs no bulb and gives 1702 lumens from 17.1W at a warm 2700K. It has a CRI of 90, so faces and planting look natural under it. The E27 version takes two E27 bulbs (not included) of up to 15W each, for those who like to pick their own.

Rated IP66, it is built for outdoor use, so it suits a covered porch, a veranda, a loggia or the ceiling of an arched walkway, anywhere you want a gentle light overhead after dark. Fitted in a row along a passage or covered terrace, a set of these globes lights the way from one end to the other. One alone works well above a front door or a back door, where the round shape gives a friendly welcome home. The LED version dims on a compatible dimmer, so you can bring the light down for a long evening outside. With the E27 version, you choose the bulbs to suit the space.

The fitting is made from brass, iron, aluminium and medium density polyethylene, finished in white, and its form is simple: a canopy, a stem and a globe. The design is by Alex Fernández Camps and Gonzalo Milà. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician, so plan for that when you choose where it goes.
