Description

The Elie is an 11cm teardrop-shaped pendant light formed from solid glass with embedded air bubbles that create a textured, organic appearance when lit. An integrated 5W 3000K LED inside the glass casts 400 lumens of warm white light downwards and through the bubble-filled glass body, which diffuses and scatters the beam. The pendant hangs from a chrome ceiling canopy on an adjustable cable.

Designed for kitchen islands, breakfast bars, hallway entries and bedside positions where compact decorative pendants are needed, the Elie works as a single fitting or in multiples spaced 400-600mm apart. The 150cm maximum drop allows the pendant to be set 600-800mm above a worktop or 700-900mm above a dining table, depending on ceiling height. Minimum drop is 35cm, making the fitting suitable for standard 2.4m ceiling heights with the pendant positioned well clear of head height.

The glass body weighs 1.23kg including the LED module and chrome mounting hardware, giving the fitting a substantial presence despite its compact 11cm diameter and 22cm pendant height. The embedded bubbles vary in size and distribution between individual pieces, so each Elie pendant shows a slightly different internal pattern when viewed up close. The chrome canopy and cable grip provide a polished metallic accent that contrasts with the organic glass form.

The IP20 rating limits the Elie to dry indoor locations — it is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use. The integrated LED is non-replaceable, with a CRI above 80 ensuring good colour rendering for interior surfaces and objects underneath the pendant.

The integrated 5W LED operates on standard 220-240V mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model in use. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer switch to confirm compatibility.

Can the LED be replaced when it fails?

No. The LED module is integrated into the glass pendant and is not user-replaceable. The expected lifespan of the LED is typically 15,000-25,000 hours depending on usage patterns.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 150cm maximum drop works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above when the pendant is set 700-900mm above a surface. The minimum 35cm drop suits lower ceilings where the pendant needs to sit closer to the ceiling rose.

How is the glass cleaned?

Switch off at the mains before cleaning. Wipe the glass gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the pendant or soaking the chrome canopy.
