Description

A pair of candle holders built as pine cones, each assembled from individual iron scales welded on in overlapping rings around a central column, with a cup at the top for a dinner candle and a flat round foot below. The finish goes on after the welding, so it gathers in the joins between the scales and sits darker there.

Two is the point: set at either end of a table, a place setting apart, they frame it. Each takes a dinner candle, and the flat round foot sits straight on the table without a mat. The scales catch the flame from below and shadow the row beneath.

The metal is iron. Every scale is welded on one at a time, so no two cones close up in quite the same way. Two are supplied. A single Elagalu holder is made as well. The candles are not included.

Frequently Asked

How many are in the set?

Two.

What candle does it take?

A dinner candle.

What is it made of?

Iron, in a rust finish applied after the cone is welded together.

Is there a single one?

Yes, a one-size Elagalu holder.

How do I look after it?

Wash it in warm water with a mild dish soap after every use so that wax does not build up, and keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off the finish. Stand the candle securely. It gets hot in use, so let it cool fully before handling it, keep it out of reach of children, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
