Description

A garland 110cm long on a twisted jute cord, hung with recycled glass baubles along its length, each on its own metal cap and ring. The baubles alternate between a deep ruby and a pale copper, and the shapes alternate too, faceted forms between rounded onion ones. They hang about 3cm below the cord.

One hundred and ten centimetres is twenty shorter than the gold Ekiti garlands, which suits a narrower mantel or a single flight of banister. Run across the front of a pine mantelpiece, the ruby reads darkest against the pale wood. It is made to be wall hung.

The glass is recycled and mouth-blown: waste glass collected, washed, crushed and melted down, then blown one bauble at a time, which is where the mottled patterning comes from. The cord is jute. Four other Ekiti colourways are made.
