Description

A folding bistro table in iron, 90cm square and 76cm high. The top is a single sheet with a shallow lip turned down all round its edge, carried on two X-frames of flat bar that cross beneath it and are tied by a long stretcher along each side. The feet turn outward where they meet the ground. The surface is distressed rather than painted flat, so black and brown run into one another across the top and the frame goes darker where the bar has been worked.

It is made to seat four, one to each side of the 90cm square. The frame folds, so it goes flat against a wall or into a shed once the season is over. It is rated for outdoor use and the top will take 70kg, and at 26kg there is enough weight in the table itself to hold it on an exposed terrace.

The table is iron throughout, and the distressed surface is worked by hand, so no two tops carry the same run of black and brown. Iron kept outdoors goes on deepening its patina, and the colour will move away from the way it looked on the day it arrived. The same table is made in a smaller size.
