Description

The Ehadi is a plain floor lamp base: a stepped round foot 25.5cm across, a small turned knop above it, a long straight column, and a second knop below the lampholder cup at the top. There is no ornament beyond those two turnings and the step in the foot. The brass is antiqued and even in tone from foot to collar, without the mottling of a heavily aged finish, and it stands 141.5cm to the lampholder.

A column this plain leaves the shade to do the work, and at 25.5cm the foot is narrow enough to push against a chair or a sofa arm without the base showing. At 141.5cm the lampholder is above seated eye level, so the bulb stays hidden from a chair and the light comes down through the shade rather than out at a face. It takes one E27 bulb up to 60W, the flex runs 3.5m, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The column and foot are iron finished in antique brass, so the lamp is heavier at 4.2kg than its outline suggests and the weight sits in the foot. The Ehadi range also holds a table lamp base turned the same way. No shade and no bulb are included.

Frequently Asked

Does a shade come with it?

No, this is the base alone. A wide drum or a tapered empire shade both suit a column this plain, and the 25.5cm foot will carry either.

How tall is it once a shade is on?

The lampholder is at 141.5cm and a shade adds its own height above that, so measure the shade if the lamp has to stand under a low or sloping ceiling.

Is the column solid brass?

No. It is iron in an antique brass finish, which is why it weighs 4.2kg and stands firm on a 25.5cm foot.

How do I clean it?

Unplug it, then a soft dry cloth down the column. Abrasives and harsh chemicals will mark the antique finish.
