Description

The Egil-2 is a 140mm square outdoor wall or ceiling light cast from aluminium and finished in graphite, with four horizontal opal acrylic panels set into a stepped frame. An integrated 5.7W GX53 LED lamp inside the housing produces 3000K warm white light that passes through the four panels, creating an even wash across the face of the fitting without visible hot spots or glare.

Designed for outdoor wall mounting or soffit/ceiling mounting on porches, exterior hallways, and covered walkways, the Egil-2 carries an IP54 rating against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction. The 54mm projection from the wall makes it suitable for narrow passages and side-of-door positions where deeper fittings would obstruct movement. The graphite finish on the cast aluminium body resists corrosion in coastal and urban environments.

The horizontal bar structure dividing the four acrylic panels gives the fitting a geometric appearance that works with both modern and industrial architecture, while the shallow profile keeps it unobtrusive on rendered, brick, or timber-clad walls. The integrated GX53 LED lamp provides 400-450 lumens output at 5.7W consumption, enough to illuminate a 2-3m section of pathway or stair landing without needing multiple fittings.

Can the Egil-2 be used on ceilings as well as walls?

Yes. The fitting is designed for both wall and ceiling mounting. For ceiling mounting it works best on covered porches, soffits, or exterior hallways rather than fully exposed positions open to driving rain.

What does the IP54 rating cover?

IP54 means the fitting is protected against dust ingress (IP5x) and splashing water from any direction (IPx4). It is suitable for covered outdoor positions and can handle rain splash, but should not be mounted where it will receive sustained direct rainfall or water jets.

Is the LED lamp replaceable?

The fitting includes a 5.7W GX53 LED lamp. GX53 is a twist-and-lock cap format, so the lamp can be replaced if it fails. Replacement GX53 lamps are available separately at Niori.

What spacing is recommended for pathway lighting?

At 400-450 lumens output, each Egil-2 provides enough light for a 2-3m section of pathway or wall. For continuous lighting along a walkway, position fittings at 2.5-3m intervals depending on desired brightness and overlap.
