Description

The small Edina is a glass bottle with straight sides and a sloping shoulder, 40cm tall and 20.5cm across, drawing in to a short neck at the top. The glass is a warm smoke brown, deeper where the wall is thickest, and the surface is hammered so it breaks into shallow facets rather than running smooth. A brass collar caps the neck and carries a black lampholder with a shade ring, and a rust coloured fabric cord runs from the base.

This is a base only: no shade and no bulb. The bottle shape puts its width low and its neck high, so a shade sits well clear of the body and the glass stays visible below it instead of being hidden. Lit, the brown warms and the facets pick up the light one at a time. At 40cm it is a bedside or sideboard height. It takes an E27 bulb, the cord runs 2.5m, the plug is UK and EU, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The glass is recycled and mouth blown into this shape, then hammered, so the facets and the depth of the brown differ from one base to the next. The collar is brass. The Edina range also holds the same bottle in clear glass. Neither a shade nor a bulb is included.

Frequently Asked

Does it come with a shade?

No. It is the base only, with a black lampholder and a shade ring on top. Supplied without a shade.

How is it different from the clear Edina?

The same bottle at the same size and weight. Only the glass differs: this one is a warm smoke brown, the other is clear.

What is the maximum bulb wattage?

It takes an E27 screw fitting. Fit no more than the maximum wattage marked on the lampholder.

How do I clean it?

Unplug it and take any shade off, then wipe the glass with a soft dry cloth. Keep abrasive materials and harsh chemicals off the finish.
