Description

The Eclipseax is an 18cm circular outdoor wall light with an integrated 9W LED delivering warm 3000K light through a brown powder-coated metal housing. The circular profile sits close to the wall, projecting light outwards and downwards in a wash pattern suitable for illuminating doorways, porch areas and exterior walls without creating harsh pools of light.

Designed for residential outdoor installation, the fitting carries an IP54 rating, protecting against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction. This makes it suitable for covered porches, open-sided carports, and exterior walls under eaves where the fitting has some overhead protection but is still exposed to wind-driven rain. The brown powder-coated finish sits comfortably against brick, timber cladding and painted render in neutral or earth tones.

The 9W LED is integrated into the fitting and runs directly from 230V mains, requiring no separate bulb purchase or future bulb replacement. At 3000K the colour temperature produces a warm white similar to traditional incandescent bulbs, avoiding the colder blue-white cast of higher Kelvin LEDs. The fitting is non-dimmable and the LED is rated for years of continuous outdoor operation with minimal lumen degradation. The circular housing measures 180mm in diameter with a low-profile depth, avoiding obstruction in narrow walkways or beside frequently-opened doors.

What does the IP54 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP54 provides protection against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, making the Eclipseax suitable for covered outdoor locations such as porches, carports and walls under eaves. It is not rated for full exposure to heavy rainfall or submersion, so avoid installing in locations with no overhead protection.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 9W LED is integrated into the fitting and runs directly from mains power. The LED is rated for years of continuous operation and is covered by Ideal Lux's 5-year warranty, so replacement is not expected during normal product lifespan.

Can this be used on a dimmer switch?

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and must be wired to a standard on/off switch or timer control only. Connecting it to a dimmer circuit may cause flickering or damage to the LED driver.

What fixing method does it use?

The Eclipseax mounts to an exterior wall via a rear mounting plate with screw fixings. The circular housing conceals the plate once installed. Suitable fixings for your specific wall material (brick, block, timber, render) must be sourced separately.
