Description
The Eclipseax is a 30cm circular outdoor wall light built around three disc-shaped metal plates in a grey powder-coated finish, each emitting a halo of warm white light around its perimeter. An integrated 16W LED array behind the discs casts 3000K light outward through a concealed gap between each disc and the wall, creating a floating appearance after dark without exposing the light source directly.
Designed for external walls on modern residential and commercial buildings, the Eclipseax suits locations where architectural accent lighting is needed alongside functional illumination — entrance porches, garden walls separating different outdoor zones, or flanking garage doors. The IP54 rating protects the LED assembly and internal wiring against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the fitting suitable for exposed UK walls that receive rain and wind but not direct water jets.
The three discs are arranged in an asymmetric cluster across the 30cm diameter faceplate, with the largest disc measuring approximately 15cm and the two smaller discs at 10cm and 8cm respectively. The grey metal finish is a mid-tone charcoal that reads neutral against both light-painted render and natural stone or brick. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and draws 16W on 230V mains, which is roughly equivalent to a 100W halogen in light output but with a significantly longer rated life and lower running cost. The fitting mounts directly onto a standard outdoor back box with the cable entry point on the rear of the baseplate.
From Ideal Lux, the Eclipseax carries a five-year warranty covering the LED driver and housing against manufacturing defects. The LED itself is sealed into the unit and not user-replaceable, so the entire fitting is replaced at end of life rather than just the lamp.

Frequently Asked
Can this be used in a bathroom or wet room?
The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashes, which makes the Eclipseax suitable for external walls exposed to rain. For internal wet rooms or bathrooms, check the zone requirements — IP54 is typically acceptable for Zone 2 and outside zones, but not for Zone 0 or Zone 1 where direct water jets or full immersion are possible.
Is the LED replaceable?
No. The integrated 16W LED is sealed into the housing and cannot be replaced by the end user. When the LED reaches end of life, the entire fitting is replaced. Ideal Lux rates the LED at approximately 30,000 hours, which equates to around 10-15 years of typical residential evening use.
Does it cast light both upward and downward?
The Eclipseax casts light outward in a halo around each disc, creating a wash effect on the wall surface behind the fitting. The light spreads both upward and downward from each disc but does not project forward into the garden or pathway — it is designed as wall accent lighting rather than task or security lighting.
What's the best mounting height?
For porches and entrance areas, mounting the Eclipseax at 1.8-2.2m above ground level positions the discs at a comfortable eye level and allows the halo effect to wash across a larger section of wall. For garden walls or boundaries, the height depends on the wall itself and what you want to illuminate.
