Description

We stock the Dip as a recessed LED downlight in white for ceilings across the home and workplace. It has an integrated 15W LED module giving 1650 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, and a perforated bezel surrounds the central reflector so the fitting reads as a little more decorative than a plain downlight. The white aluminium trim sits level with the ceiling once fitted, and the 103mm face keeps it neat in the plasterboard.

The 50 degree beam throws a concentrated pool of light straight down, which makes the Dip a sensible choice for general lighting in living rooms, bedrooms and hallways, or for picking out a specific area as accent lighting. Its CRI 90 rating renders colour accurately, so it works well over kitchen worktops, retail displays and artwork where you want tones to look true. The finish blends into a white ceiling or gives a soft contrast against a coloured one.

This is a mains-voltage fitting running on 220 to 240V, and it is designed to recess into plasterboard or a suspended ceiling with enough void behind for the heat-sink assembly. The aluminium body draws heat away from the LED so it stays within safe limits over its rated life. The driver is non-dimmable, which keeps wiring straightforward on circuits without a dimmer. Rated IP20, it is intended for dry indoor locations rather than bathroom shower zones.

What size cut-out does it need?

The trim measures 103mm across the face, so cut your ceiling aperture to suit that and leave enough void depth behind for the integrated heat-sink to sit clear.

Is it dimmable?

No. This version uses a non-dimmable driver, so it runs at full 1650 lumen output and does not need a dimmer switch on the circuit.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

Do I need to buy a separate bulb?

No. The 15W LED is built into the downlight and gives 3000K warm white light at CRI 90, so there is no separate lamp to buy or replace.
