Description

Dip is an arc floor lamp made for outdoors, with a slim curved stem that rises from a round base and sweeps out to a flat disc head. It stands 196cm tall and reaches 188cm out, so the light falls well away from where the lamp stands. The head is 25cm across and the base 49cm across. Inside the head is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change: it draws 18W and gives 1931 lumens, with a CRI of 90 so colours look true under it. It comes in 2700K or 3000K, the warmer white or the slightly crisper one, and it is finished in Corten, a warm rust-brown that sits easily among planting, timber and stone.

Rated IP65, this outdoor floor lamp suits a terrace, patio or garden seating area, where its long reach brings light over a table or a pair of chairs with no ceiling to hang a pendant from. It is just as much at home indoors, arching over a sofa or reading chair from the edge of a living room. It plugs in, so it can move with the furniture as the seasons change. We think it suits anyone who wants overhead light outside without putting up posts or fixing anything to a wall.

The build is simple and clean: one slender curved arm, a narrow upright and a flat round base, all in the same Corten finish. It runs on 230V and dims with a push, so you can turn it down for a late evening outside or bring it up for reading. On a practical note, measure before you choose its spot: allow for the full 188cm reach and the 49cm base, so the head lands over the table or sofa you have in mind. It has a plug on its cable, and we include a UK adaptor in the box, so it is ready for a UK socket. Outdoors, the plug and the adaptor must sit in a covered, weatherproof outdoor socket.
