Description

We stock the Dip 45° honeycomb lens as a transparent plastic accessory for 15W LED downlight modules. It narrows the beam to a 45 degree cone and cuts direct glare from the LED, with a honeycomb structure of hexagonal cells that breaks up the light path, softens the beam edge and holds the spill within the main cone. It is an add-on optic rather than a light fitting on its own.

We fit lenses like this where a downlight needs to light a defined task area without scattering light across nearby surfaces, so it suits offices, retail display lighting and homes alike. The 45 degree beam works well over desks, counters and display shelves at ceiling heights of roughly 2.4m to 3m. It clips or sits into the downlight trim ring, and exactly how it seats depends on the 15W module it pairs with.

The lens is made from plastic that copes with the everyday operating heat of an LED downlight, and you can wipe the honeycomb cells clean if dust builds up. The transparent finish keeps the LED's full output while steering it more tightly than an open aperture would. It is a replacement or upgrade optic for compatible 15W downlights and is not dimmable in itself, since dimming is set by the downlight and its driver.

Frequently Asked

What does this honeycomb lens do?

It narrows a 15W LED downlight to a 45 degree beam and reduces direct glare. The hexagonal honeycomb cells break up the light path so the edge of the beam is softer and less light spills onto nearby surfaces.

Will it fit my downlight?

It is made for 15W LED downlight modules and clips or sits into the trim ring. How it seats depends on your specific module, so please check it against your downlight before ordering.

Is the lens dimmable?

The lens itself has no dimming function. Dimming is handled by the downlight and its driver, so if your fitting dims on a compatible dimmer, adding this lens does not change that.

Is a downlight or bulb included?

No. This is the honeycomb lens on its own, supplied as a replacement or upgrade optic. The 15W LED downlight it fits is sold separately.
