Description

We stock the Dip as a transparent plastic lens that narrows the beam of a compatible 10W recessed downlight to 35 degrees. It swaps in for the standard diffuser or reflector in the housing, taking the fitting from a broad ambient wash to a tighter, more focused cone of light. The clear plastic adds no tint, so the colour temperature and colour rendering of your downlight come through unchanged.

We reach for a tighter beam like this when a downlight needs to do a specific job rather than fill a whole room. The 35 degree spread suits accent lighting, task light over a kitchen worktop, or picking out an object or surface in retail, gallery and hospitality settings. It is a straightforward way to turn a general recessed downlight into directional light without changing the fitting itself.

The lens fits inside compatible 10W recessed downlight housings and is held in place by the fitting's own bezel or trim ring. To fit it you remove the existing diffuser or reflector, drop the lens in, and re-secure the bezel. The lens is not dimmable in itself and does not affect whether the downlight dims; that depends on the driver in the fitting. It is supplied as the lens only, with no lamp or downlight included.

The lens itself has nothing to dim. Whether the light dims depends on the downlight's own driver and your dimmer, not on this optic, so fitting the lens does not add or remove dimming.
