Description

A set of four hanging eggs carved from mango wood, each 7.5cm tall and 5.5cm across. They are smooth and unpainted, polished until the grain shows as darker streaks running the length of the shell, so no two carry the same figuring. Each egg hangs from a loop of natural jute cord passed through the narrow end. The wood is a warm mid-brown throughout.

These are made for an Easter tree. All four hang from a bare branch, spaced at different heights along it. At 7.5cm they are small enough to hang several to a branch, and the cord loops straight over a twig without needing a hook. Four will also dress a single cut stem on a hall table. They are for indoor use.

Each egg is carved by hand from sustainable mango wood and then polished smooth, so the shape and the run of the grain differ from one to the next. The wood is left its own colour with nothing applied over it, and the hanging cords are natural jute. Four come in a set, weighing 0.3kg together.

Frequently Asked

How many come in a set?

Four.

How big is each egg?

7.5cm tall and 5.5cm across.

How do they hang?

Each has a loop of jute cord through the narrow end, long enough to go straight over a branch or a twig.

Can they be used outdoors?

No. They are for indoor use only.

How do I look after them?

Wipe them with a dry, soft cloth to lift any dust that builds up. Handle them carefully, and keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off the wood so the finish is not damaged.

Will the four match?

Not exactly. Each is carved and polished by hand, so the shape and the grain differ from egg to egg.
