Description

The Digha is a slender pole of mango wood on a round brass foot, 52cm to the top and only 17cm across at the base. The wood is stained a dark antique brown that leaves the grain showing through it, and it runs as a plain column between the brass foot below and a brass cup above. A black lampholder with a shade ring sits on the cup, and a rust coloured cord runs from the foot with a switch on it.

This is a base only: no shade and no bulb. At 52cm it is tall for a table base and narrow for its height, so it lifts a shade to standing eye level on a console without taking any width on the surface. The dark wood and the brass read as two materials rather than as one finish, which is what separates it from the pale wood bases in the range. It takes one E27 bulb up to 60W, the cord runs 2.5m with a switch, the plug is UK and EU, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The pole is mango wood, shaped and carved by hand and then stained dark, and the foot and the cup are aluminium finished in antique brass. The Digha range also holds a floor lamp base in the same dark wood and brass. Neither a shade nor a bulb is included.

Frequently Asked

Does it come with a shade?

No. It is the base only, with a black lampholder and a shade ring on top. Supplied without a shade.

How tall is it with a shade on?

The base alone is 52cm to the top of the holder. What a shade adds depends on the shade, so measure the one you choose.

Is there a floor lamp to match?

Yes. The Digha range holds a floor lamp base in the same dark stained wood and antique brass.

How do I clean it?

Unplug it, then wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off both the wood and the brass.
