Description

The Dido is a 116cm LED island pendant light built around three curved gold-finished aluminium arms that form a wave pattern, each housing an integrated LED strip behind an opal silicone diffuser. The 33W LED output at 3000K casts warm white light downwards and outwards through the opal diffuser, softening the light and reducing glare. The suspension cables adjust from 55cm to 120cm drop, allowing the fitting to be set 60-80cm above a worktop or dining table depending on ceiling height.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and bar counters in contemporary and modern interiors, the Dido provides both task and ambient light. The 116cm length suits islands 1.5-2m long or dining tables seating 6-8. The gold gloss finish on the aluminium arms reflects light from adjacent surfaces and pairs with warm-toned interiors, brass or copper fixtures, and white or light grey kitchens. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only.

The three-arm wave pattern gives the fitting sculptural presence from below while maintaining a low 17cm profile when viewed from the side. The combined aluminium and opal silicone construction keeps the weight at 1.58kg, light enough for standard ceiling fixings without additional support. The dimmable LED allows the light output to be reduced for evening dining or raised for food preparation, controlled via a compatible wall dimmer or trailing-edge dimmer switch.

Is the Dido dimmable?

Yes. The integrated 33W LED is dimmable when paired with a compatible trailing-edge or phase-cut dimmer switch. Not all dimmers work with all LED drivers, so confirm compatibility with your specific dimmer model before purchase.

What length island or table does it suit?

The 116cm width suits kitchen islands 1.5-2m long or dining tables seating 6-8 people. For longer islands or tables, two Dido fittings can be positioned in series, spaced 1.2-1.5m apart.

How high should it hang above the worktop?

For kitchen islands, position the fitting 70-80cm above the worktop. For dining tables, 75-85cm above the table surface is typical. The adjustable suspension cables allow the drop to be set during installation to suit your ceiling height.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Dido is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It cannot be used in bathrooms, wet rooms, or outdoor covered areas where moisture or splashing occurs.
