Description
The Deela is a single-bulb pendant light combining a hand-blown opal glass bulb with a tapered champagne bronze metal collar. The glass is satin-etched to a soft white finish that diffuses light evenly, while the conical bronze collar narrows from a 100mm ceiling canopy down to a slim stem that cups the glass. A single E27 bulb inside the 178mm-diameter glass casts ambient light downward and outward through the translucent shade.
Designed for kitchen counters, breakfast bars and reading corners where task light is needed without the visual bulk of larger shades, the Deela works alone over a small table or in multiples of two or three spaced along a galley kitchen or island. The drop is adjustable between 683mm and 1445mm on installation, allowing the pendant to be set 600-750mm above a worktop or bar height depending on ceiling height. The champagne bronze finish pairs well with warm wood tones, brass hardware and neutral stone surfaces.
The opal glass is mouth-blown rather than moulded, so slight variations in thickness and translucency occur between individual pieces. The tapered metal collar is solid rather than spun, giving the fitting a 1.2kg weight that feels substantial when handled but sits unobtrusively once suspended. The E27 socket accepts standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W (sold separately), with most users choosing a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K for kitchen or dining use.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Deela take?
The pendant uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. For kitchen counter or dining use, a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K provides sufficient task light without glare through the opal glass.
Can multiple Deela pendants be hung in a row?
Yes. The slim 178mm diameter allows two or three Deela pendants to be spaced along a kitchen island or counter without crowding. Typical spacing is 600-900mm between centres, depending on island length and ceiling height.
Is the opal glass dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you choose. Most modern LED bulbs are dimmable when paired with an LED-compatible trailing-edge dimmer. Check the bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before purchase.
How is the drop adjusted?
The cable drop is adjusted during installation by feeding the excess cable back into the ceiling canopy. The minimum drop of 683mm and maximum drop of 1445mm give flexibility to suit different ceiling heights and counter positions.
