Description

The large Deeka is a hand blown jar in recycled glass, 23.5cm to the top of its lid and 21cm across the base. The body is close to a cone: it stands on a broad flat foot, tapers up through a long straight shoulder and stops at a short neck. A mango wood lid turned in two tiers caps it. The glass holds the pale green cast of recycled glass, and the line where the shoulder meets the neck sits at a slightly different angle on every jar.

At 3100ml this is the larger of the two Deeka sizes, 700ml more than the small. The lid seals by suction on a silicone lining. It is for dry food.

The jar is recycled glass and the lid is mango wood. Each lid is turned on a lathe, so the grain lands differently on every one and some come out paler than others. The glass is blown rather than moulded, so no two jars are quite the same shape. Deeka is also made at 20cm.
