Description
The Deco is a half-lantern outdoor wall light with a red powder-coated aluminium body, clear polycarbonate glazing panels, and an internal mirrored backplate that reflects light forward. The E27 socket accepts any standard screw bulb up to 60W (sold separately), and the IP44 rating protects the bulb chamber from rain and dust ingress when wall-mounted.
Designed for residential front doors, porch areas, courtyard walls and garden gate posts, the Deco provides functional light for pathways and entrances while acting as a colour accent against rendered, brick or painted walls. The 325mm height and 193mm width give enough presence for doorways on detached and semi-detached houses without overwhelming cottage-scale porches. The 110mm projection from the wall keeps the lantern clear of door swings and rainwater run-off.
The red finish is a powder-coated layer over cast aluminium, providing UV and corrosion resistance in UK coastal and urban conditions. The mirrored backplate inside the lantern prevents light from being absorbed into the wall and directs it outward through the clear polycarbonate panels, increasing effective brightness compared to non-mirrored lanterns of the same wattage. The colour pairs with red brick, dark grey render, and painted timber door frames in heritage shades.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Deco take?
The lantern takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K for traditional porch lighting, or a daylight-temperature bulb for security lighting.
Is it suitable for coastal areas?
The aluminium body is powder-coated for corrosion resistance and the IP44 rating protects internal components from rain and airborne salt. It performs well in UK coastal conditions, but regular cleaning of the polycarbonate panels with fresh water prevents salt build-up that can dull the finish over time.
Does the mirrored backplate make a noticeable difference?
Yes. The mirror reflects light forward through the clear panels rather than letting it be absorbed into the wall behind, effectively doubling the useful light output compared to a non-mirrored lantern of the same wattage.
How is it fitted to the wall?
The Deco mounts via a backplate with fixing holes for screws into a solid wall, typically using wall plugs on masonry or coach bolts on timber. The electrical cable enters through a knockout in the backplate and connects to a junction box or direct to mains wiring inside the lantern body.
