Description
The Deco is a half-lantern outdoor wall light with a cream powder-coated aluminium body, clear polycarbonate glazing panels, and a mirrored aluminium backplate that reflects light forward. The single E27 bulb fitting sits behind the polycarbonate, protected from direct weather exposure by the IP44-rated housing. The lantern measures 325mm high by 193mm wide with a 110mm projection from the wall.
Designed for porch entrances, side gates, and exterior pathways on period and contemporary homes, the Deco suits brickwork, rendered walls and painted timber facades where a lighter finish is preferred over traditional black or dark bronze. The cream finish reduces visual weight against pale stonework or white render, while the mirrored backplate directs light onto the door frame or pathway rather than scattering it into the lantern housing. The half-lantern form mounts flush to the wall via a rear mounting plate concealed by the cream body.
The solid aluminium construction resists corrosion in typical UK coastal and urban environments, and the IP44 rating protects against rain and wind-driven spray from any direction. The clear polycarbonate panels are impact-resistant and transmit more light than traditional glass, making the fitting noticeably brighter when fitted with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 6-8W. The cream finish is a factory powder-coat applied over primed aluminium, giving a consistent tone that remains stable under UV exposure.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Deco take?
The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 6-8W and 2700K for a traditional lantern appearance.
Can this be used in exposed coastal locations?
The IP44 rating protects against rain and wind-driven spray, and the aluminium construction resists corrosion in typical UK coastal environments. For direct salt spray exposure on seafront properties, periodic rinsing with fresh water will help maintain the finish.
Does the mirrored backplate increase light output?
Yes. The mirrored aluminium backplate reflects light forward onto the door frame, pathway or wall surface rather than absorbing it into the lantern housing. This makes the fitting appear brighter and directs more usable light onto the area you need illuminated.
How is it wired and mounted?
The lantern mounts to a standard outdoor electrical back box via a rear plate concealed by the cream body. Wiring feeds through the back of the mounting plate. Installation requires a qualified electrician and compliance with Part P Building Regulations for outdoor electrical work.
