Description

The Deco is a 325mm outdoor half lantern wall light cast in solid aluminium with a bronze powder-coat finish, clear polycarbonate panels and a mirrored backplate. The traditional coach-style canopy sits above a four-sided glass enclosure holding a single E27 bulb (sold separately). The mirrored backplate behind the bulb doubles the effective light output by reflecting rearward light back through the front and side panels.

Designed for wall mounting beside front doors, porch entrances and along covered pathways, the Deco carries an IP44 rating for outdoor use in UK weather conditions. The polycarbonate panels resist UV degradation and impact damage better than traditional glass, while the aluminium casting resists corrosion in coastal and damp environments. The 110mm projection from the wall and downward-opening base panel allow bulb changes without removing the entire fitting from the back plate.

The bronze finish develops a subtle patina over time when exposed to weather, giving older installations a darker, more aged appearance. This makes the Deco particularly suited to period properties, rural cottages and homes with brick or stone façades where a heritage aesthetic is preferred. The 193mm width suits standard single-storey door heights and narrow wall sections where a full-width lantern would be disproportionate.

What IP rating does it carry?

The Deco is rated IP44, which means it is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and splashing water from any direction. This is suitable for UK outdoor use on walls under eaves, porches and covered entrance areas, but not for fully exposed positions subject to driving rain.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to match the traditional lantern aesthetic.

Can the bulb be changed without removing the lantern from the wall?

Yes. The base panel opens downwards, allowing access to the E27 socket and bulb without removing the back plate from the wall. The polycarbonate panels remain fixed to the aluminium frame during bulb changes.

Does the bronze finish weather or change colour over time?
