Description

An outdoor wall light in solid brass, 20cm high and 20cm wide, standing 10cm off the wall. The back plate is a half disc, and from it a half-dome hood projects forward and curves down, leaving an opening beneath it. Glass encloses the lamp behind that opening. The brass is heavily patinated, running from pale gold on the raised curves to near black in the hollows, and the fixing screws sit visible on the plate.

The hood closes the top of the fitting and casts the light down the wall, so it makes a pool of light rather than lighting a space evenly. Mounted on a wall, the light falls below it. It suits a position above a doorbell, or a run of them spaced along a driveway or a garden wall. It is suitable for outdoor use.

The fitting is solid brass with glass, forged by hand in small batches down to the nuts and bolts. It takes a G9 bulb of up to 7W and it is dimmable. Left outside, the brass will oxidise and darken over time.

Frequently Asked

What bulb does it take?

A G9, of up to 7W. It is dimmable.

How far does it stand off the wall?

10cm. The fitting is 20cm high and 20cm wide.

Which way does it throw the light?

Downwards. The hood closes the top of the fitting, so the light comes out of the opening beneath it and falls down the wall.

Can it be used outside?

Yes, it is made for outdoor use. It is solid brass, and the brass will oxidise and darken over time in the weather.

How do I look after it?

Run a soft bristle brush over the fixings about once a month, then wipe the fitting, the glass included, with a microfibre cloth so that dust and dirt do not build up. Keep abrasive materials and harsh chemicals away from the finish. Refer to the assembly instructions for installation.
