Description

Four cheese knives with forged handles and brushed steel blades, each piece 14cm long. No two blades are the same: one is cut through with three windows and ends in a fork, one is short and rounded for spreading, one sweeps up in a long curve and squares off at the tip, and one is a broad scoop notched at the heel. The handles are alike on all four, forged square and tapered towards the end, and left rough from the hammer so they read darker than the blades.

The four together cover a board: something to cut a soft cheese, something to cut into a hard one, something to spread and something to lift. Each piece is 14cm long and 3cm across at its widest, so the set sits in a drawer or beside a board rather than taking up room on it. The set arrives in a gift box.

All four pieces are stainless steel, and the handles are forged by hand using traditional techniques, so the surface is uneven and no two carry the same marks. The set is food safe and can go in the dishwasher. Darsa is also made in a brushed gold finish.
