Description
The Dark is a 2-light table lamp from Schuller built around a vertical matte black metal frame with satin brass details and twin glass spheres — one amber, one smoked grey — each 12cm in diameter. Two G9 bulbs sit inside the glass spheres, with bulbs included and delivering a combined 800lm output at 2 x 10W.
Designed for console tables, sideboards, bedside positions and styled shelves, the Dark works as both ambient lighting and a sculptural accent in rooms where the lamp itself becomes part of the composition. The 42cm height and 28.5cm footprint suit narrow console depths and mantels where a larger floor lamp would overwhelm. The vertical frame keeps the lamp stable at 1.27kg without needing a wide base.
The matte black finish on the frame absorbs light and gives the lamp a low-reflective presence during the day, while the brass detailing at the joints and sockets adds warmth without dominating. The amber and smoke glass spheres create two distinct light tones when lit — the amber casts a warmer glow, the smoke a cooler diffusion — giving the lamp an asymmetric visual rhythm that suits mid-century, industrial and contemporary interiors looking for contrast over uniformity.
The lamp is Class 2 rated, meaning it does not require an earth connection and can be used with 2-pin plugs on 220-240V mains at 50-60Hz. The G9 bulbs are small capsule-style fittings that sit inside the glass without protruding, keeping the spherical forms clean when viewed from any angle.

Assembly Instruction
Frequently Asked
Are bulbs included?
Yes. The Dark ships with two G9 bulbs rated at 10W each, delivering 800lm combined output. Replacement G9 bulbs are widely available if needed in future.
Is the lamp dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific G9 bulb used. The included bulbs may or may not support dimming — check the bulb packaging or replace with dimmable G9 bulbs if dimming is required.
What is the difference between the two glass spheres?
One sphere is amber-toned glass, the other is smoked grey. When lit, the amber casts a warmer light tone and the smoke a cooler diffusion, creating asymmetric visual interest rather than uniform output.
Does it require assembly?
Yes. The lamp requires basic assembly on unpacking — typically attaching the glass spheres to the frame and connecting the bulbs. Full assembly instructions are included in the Downloads section above.
